A$AP Rocky ruffled a few feathers when he said that though “some dope music” is coming out of Atlanta, a majority of the rappers from that city sound the same. ATL rep Pastor Troy has no hard feelings. He actually agrees.
“Them Atlanta dudes – it’s a few dudes that’s doing their own thing that’s killing it,” the “L$D” rapper said during an interview at the Red Bull Music Academy. “I’m not saying all Atlanta rappers sound the same, but for the most part, majority. They all kind of have similar cadences, flows and delivery. They even recycle the same lyrics from each other.”
When he sat down with AllHipHop, Troy said that most rappers from his hometown sound the same because the bar isn’t set high enough.
“I hope A$AP Rocky stirred something up in ya’ll little boys and made ya’ll want to correct that,” Pastor Troy said. “Don’t get mad and want to fight. Step your game up.”
