(AllHipHop News) The once tough-talking, disgraced “Pharmabro” Martin Shkreli, broke down in tears in court today (March 9) during a sentencing hearing.

Shkreli was sentenced to seven years in prison years for securities fraud after he gained nationwide notoriety for raising an HIV drug.

But he was sent to prison for taking proceeds from a company called Retrophin Inc and using the money to pay the debts of his other businesses.

“I’m not the same person I was. I know right from wrong,” a tearful Martin Shkreli told the court. “I know what it means to tell the truth and what it means to lie. I am terribly sorry I lost your trust. You deserve far better.”

As the feds investigated Shekrli, he went on a spending spree buying Wu-Tang Clan’s album titled Once Upon a Time in Shaolin for $2 million, a Pablo Picasso and other valuable collectibles, including a copy of Lil Wayne’s unreleased album Tha Carter V.

“The only person to blame for me being here is me,” Shkreli said. “There is no government conspiracy to take down Martin Shkreli. I took down Martin Shkreli with my disgraceful and shameful actions.”

In addition to jail, the disgraced pharma-mogul must forfeit $7.36 million in assets.
