(AllHipHop News) Pharrell Williams’ website has been nominated for a prize at the 2017 Webby Awards.
The “Happy” singer’s webpage has been shortlisted for best celebrity/fan website at the annual Internet awards for PharrellWilliams.com.
Also nominated in the category are websites for singer Leon Bridges, Puerto Rican rapper Residente, a site connected to supernatural TV series “Stranger Things,” as well as Vanity Fair’s new website Vanities.
Residente also earned a second nomination in the Music (Websites) category alongside Eye of the Stormers, a collaborative project between British band Bastille and streaming service Spotify.
Speaking of the nominees, Webby Awards Executive Director David-Michel Davies said in a statement, “Webby Nominees are using the Internet in incredible ways to bring people together through humor, emotion, innovation, empathy, passion, optimism, and eccentricity – all of the elements that make for truly great Internet.
“In a year marked by so much discord and divisiveness, The Webby Awards is honored to recognize the work and efforts of our Nominees as they explore new ways to use the Internet to inform our world and bring people together.”
Hit TV series “Game of Thrones” has been nominated for Best Overall Social Presence once again, and will go up against “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” for the second year.
Other nominees include “The Simpsons for Comedy: Individual Short or Episode” (Film & Video) for an episode called “3 a.m.” as well as apps relating to movies “Star Wars” and “Sully” for the Entertainment (Mobile Sites & Apps) category.
Every nominee is eligible to win the top prizes, The Webby Award and The Webby People’s Voice Award, and winners will be announced on April 25 ahead of a ceremony on May 16 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York.
