Police are investigating
the slaying of a man in New Britain, Connecticut and the man’s alleged connections
to rapper Cuban Link.
Investigators believe Luis Bruno was murdered in a drug deal
gone bad last week.
Officers were called to an apartment in New Britain, Connecticut,
in response to a report of gunfire coming from inside the apartment.
When police arrived they found Bruno, 35, lying on the kitchen
floor with multiple stab wounds to the head, neck and face.
Police are investigating what connections, if any, Bruno had
to an associate of Cuban Link.
Cuban Link’s manager Evaristo Pabon Jr. stated that the
man worked as a security guard for the rapper last month at a concert in Springfield.
“[Police asked] about a guy who we have not seen for several
months in the past,” Pabon told the Hartford Courant. “We do know
that it’s in reference to a homicide."
The rapper rose to fame through his association with legendary
deceased rapper Big Pun and Fat Joe’s Terror Squad.
Cuban Link became involved in a highly publicized dispute with
Fat Joe, the leader of the Terror Squad. He left the group shortly after a physical
confrontation with Fat Joe.
Cuban Link recently
released his album Chain Reaction in August of 2005 and is gearing
up for dates in Texas and Arizona to support the album.
