An Orlando, Florida police officer is the subject
of an internal police investigation, after a show featuring Lil Scrappy at a
local high school turned into chaos.
Video footage of the concert, which took place
at Dr. Phillips High School last weekend, was filmed by Julia Beverly, who heads
up Ozone Magazine. The tape shows Officer
Richard Bailey Jr. shove Lil Scrappy off of the stage and into the crowd.
Bailey claimed that the rappers were on the stage
attempting to "invoke a riot response from the crowd."
Police attempted to subdue the performers on
stage and a fight broke out. Bailey said that Lil Scrappy attempted to stop
him from arresting his manager, Tommy "Serious" Phillips.
The video shows Bailey turning towards Lil Scrappy
and pushing him several feet off the stage. Ironically,
sources stated that Bailey was the blood brother of rapper Smilez of Smilez
and Southstar.
Phillips was arrested and charged with battery
on a law-enforcement officer. He said police brutalized him and Lil Scrappy.
Phillips has contacted the NAACP and said that
formal complaint would be filed pertaining to his arrest and the conditions
in the jail.
