(AllHipHop News) R. Kelly’s sex abuse trial has been set for May.
The embattled singer, who was arrested in July on separate federal counts in New York and Chicago, Illinois, is still behind bars, with his lawyers attempting to get him out on bail, despite prosecutors’ fears he’s a flight risk.
Kelly, who has pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him, will now face off with U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly from May 18.
Federal prosecutors in Brooklyn, New York claim the singer kidnapped women and made them dependent on him financially.
Another trial in Chicago, set to begin on April 27, will address claims Kelly had sexual contact with five minors and recorded sexually explicit videos of his time with them.
He has also been accused of obstructing justice by threatening witnesses and victims.
The federal charges were brought against the R&B star after seven women, including his ex-wife, claimed he abused them sexually and emotionally in the TV documentary “Surviving R. Kelly.”
R. Kelly is also facing charges from state prosecutors in Minnesota.
