(AllHipHop News) A woman has filed a complaint against R. Kelly, alleging he infected her with a sexually transmitted disease (STD).
The unnamed woman also claims the “I Believe I Can Fly” singer tried to groom her and convince her to join his alleged “sex cult,” according to legal documents.
Her attorney Lee Merritt states that his client, who was 19 when she began dating the 51-year-old R&B star last June, ended their eight-month relationship in February.
Merritt alleges their relationship was marred by “several forms of criminal misconduct” by Kelly, including “unlawful restraint, furnishing alcohol and illegal drugs to a minor, and aggravated assault (via the referenced intentional STD infection).”
In the complaint, the singer is also accused of attempting to convince her to join the alleged “sex cult” news reports have linked him to, and that she was asked to sign a contract and divulge sensitive information about her and her family as “collateral.”
Kelly’s representative told The Washington Post that he “categorically denies all claims and allegations” related to the woman’s complaint.
A report detailing the singer’s alleged mistreatment of women was first published by BuzzFeed last July when the families of two women and several former associates accused him of brainwashing young women into a “cult” servicing his sexual desires. The article included an interview with Timothy and Joycelyn Savage, who said their daughter Jocelyn had been brainwashed and was being held at one of Kelly’s properties – an allegation Jocelyn denied.
According to the Daily News, the new accuser has contacted the Savages on social media, with the family praising her “bravery” in coming forward with her complaint against Kelly.
In a recent BBC documentary, the singer’s former girlfriend Kitti Jones alleged Kelly had “trained” a 14-year-old girl to become his sexual plaything.
