(AllHipHop News) R. Kelly’s federal child pornography trial in Chicago, Illinois has been tentatively scheduled for April 2020.
The embattled R&B star will also face charges of obstruction of justice, but the judge overseeing the case made it clear during a hearing on Wednesday the trial date could be moved to accommodate similar legal matters in three other judicial districts.
Kelly’s attorney, Steve Greenberg, told the court on Wednesday he wasn’t sure his client’s legal team would be ready by April.
He reminded the prosecutors the defense lawyers have another three cases to prepare for.
The next hearing is set for September 18. Next year’s trial is expected to last three weeks.
