(AllHipHop News) Rae Sremmurd’s Gucci Mane-assisted track “Black Beatles,” set records on the charts with its reference to the legendary classic rock group’s name.
Billboard reports that the track became the highest charting Hot 100 title to name-check the group other than songs from the group itself.
“Black Beatles,” hit the top 40 of the Hot 100 chart largely by streaming as it jumped to the 20th position on the streaming songs chart.
The track jumped from the 20th position with a 11 percent increase in streams.
The track from the raucous duo’s Sophomore album Sremmlife 2 managed to surpass The Carefrees 1964 track “We Love You Beatles,” which peaked at the 39th position in April of the year amidst the height of “Beatlemania.”
Rae Sremmurd’s Sremmlife 2 debuted at the 7th position of the Billboard charts with 45,000 total album units sold.
