Ras
Kass
‘ 3rd LP, Van Gogh, has been pushedback until spring 2002 due to online bootlegging, according
to reps at Priority Records. The Cali rapper is currently
recording new songs for the LP, which was originally
slated to drop Nov. 6th. The Van Gogh album has
been the subject of controversy for some time, first
starting with a beef between Ras Kass and producer Alchemist,
over the cut "Home Sweet Home," on Ras album.
For one reason or another, the beat was sold to Ras
and Jadakiss, who used it on his cut, "We Gon Make
It."
"It’s
important to me that people who go out and buy my albums
are getting tracks they can’t get anywhere else,"
Ras Kass said. "The best way to make that happen
is to record some new songs. I’m making plans to work
with some producers I haven’t worked with before and
that’s exciting."
Ras’ latest
video, which features Doggystyle/MCA artist Kokane, uses
a portion of Ras’ version of the before launching into
"Back It Up," which also features Xzibit in
the video. Ras
is also working on The Golden State Project, with Saafir
and Xzibit. That album, titled The Coast Is Clear,
is also due in 2002 on Xzibit’s Open Bar Entertainment.
