Rick Ross On New Album: “This Is History”

Rick Ross confidently presented his new album Deeper Than Rap during an exclusive listening session in New York City last night. “I feel like I’m making the best music of my career. I’m stepping out and making it more music,” he said, revealing nine songs of the LP. “Its music. That’s what it is at the end of day. It is the boss!” Rick Ross offered the album dressed in all white, and white shell-toe adidas. He and a lady friend sipped champagne in front of an audience. As the music played, a screen flashed gangster movies like “Belly,” “New Jack City,” Scarface” and “Carlito’s Way.” After nine songs, the crowd cheered loudly with their approval. Afterwards, Ross stayed and talked to fans from the audience. Ross didn’t mention rap rival 50 Cent, but stayed focused on the art of his album. He said, “The situation is magnificent and its only going to get better. I want everybody to know, it’s not only a listening event, this is history. History for the boss, history for everybody that’s a part of this LP. Music is timeless.” Deeper Than Rap hits stores April 21 and it features Nas, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, John Legend and Gunplay.
