(AllHipHop News) Maybach Music Group CEO Rick Ross recently sat down with AllHipHop.com to discuss his growing business empire and a very busy October, which so far, has seen “The Boss” release a new mixtape and acquire two Wingstop franchises, all while preparing to release Meek Mill’s debut album for the label.
Ross, whose own album God Forgives, I Don’t was recently certified gold, just released a controversial new mixtape titled “The Black Bar Mitzvah.”
“The Black Bar Mitzvah,” which has been criticized by some Jewish rappers, was recorded in two days, according to Rick Ross.
“If you listen to it, it’s freestyles I did it over two days [when] I was in Anguilla shooting ‘Diced Pineapples.’ All the songs we was listening to that I liked that I was a fan of, I pretty much just put freestyles on,” Rick Ross told AllHipHop.com.
According to Rick Ross, one of the goals of “The Black Bar Mitzvah” release was to heighten the awareness surrounding the October 30 release of Meek Mill’s highly anticipated debut Maybach Music Group debut, Dreams & Nightmares.
“It was really something to promote Meek Mill’s album as well, shout out to all the DJs,” Rick Ross explained. “October 30 Meek Mill album drops. That’s what it’s really all about at MMG right now .”
Rick Ross also offered up some info on the rising stars of MMG and their pending releases.
“It’s like when you sign to MMG it won’t be long before you on tour, making moves,” Rick Ross told AllHipHop.com. “Rockie Fresh of course he on his Electric Highway Tour, shout out to Stalley, he’s working on his debut album and Wale’s working on his third album.”
