(AllHipHop News) Rapper and producer Rocko has filed a court motion to force hip-hop star Future to hand over his financial records as part of their ongoing lawsuit.
Rocko, real name Rodney Ramone Hill, Jr., accused the “Jumpman” hitmaker of breach of contract last summer, claiming Future reneged on a deal to release his first six albums through the plaintiff’s A1 Recordings label, which he signed to in 2011.
He claimed Future made a side deal with Epic Records executives, who distributed his music, and earned himself millions in advances while reportedly leaving Rocko out of the picture.
Future has denied the allegations, insisting his deal with A1 was not exclusive, and he filed a countersuit in September.
The legal battle has been dragging on, and in new court papers, Rocko claims Future’s team is stalling any potential progress on settling the dispute by refusing to hand over his accounting records.
Rocko likens his efforts to trying to find a “magician in a room of smoke and mirrors” and now he wants a judge to step in and order Future to submit his financial documents to move the procedure along, according to TMZ.com.
The latest development in the case emerges weeks after the producer expressed concern over Future’s spending habits and asked the case judge to make the star set aside money to cover the potential costs of the $10 million lawsuit.
