(AllHipHop News) Three hip-hop legends will be honored in the most beautiful way, in the form of a sculpture standing in the middle of Queens Public Library in Jamaica.
The sculpture will feature the torsos of Hollis’ own Jam Master Jay of Run-DMC, St. Alban’s Phife Dawg from A Tribe Called Quest and Prodigy from Queensbridge’s hip-hop duo Mobb Deep.
All three statues face each other on top of what looks like speaker boxes, looking down at whoever is standing in front of them.
Each sculpture’s height rises 9 feet into the air.
Titled “A Cypher in Queens,” each sculpture also has a dope feature, which is an acoustic enclosure where visitors can stream the music of each artist, with playlists curated by the sculptor Sherwin Banfield.
“When I look at these three individuals who are different in their artistic expression and having them pass away, it seemed like the obvious choice for me to choose to memorialize them,” said Banfield.
Visitors and tourists can view the sculpture until February 2020.
