Although Silkk
The Shocker wasn’t in the limelight for the past few years, that doesn’t
mean the younger brother of Master P. wasn’t receiving any attention.
In fact, The No
Limit Solider plans to return to Hip-Hop’s consciousness this fall with
not only a new album, but also with a television pilot in place.
“I got a
sitcom called ‘The Land Lords’ coming out in late December, early January,”
Silkk told AllHipHop.com. “It stars Ashanti and Ricky Smiley.”
The show will circle
around the rapper and Smiley as the duo attempt to run an apartment complex
they inherited together, Silkk explained.
“We try to
run this complex and it’s pretty fun [what happens],” he said.
What’s not
funny to Silkk, however, is his new album. The project will be his first new
collection since 2001’s
My World My Way.
Silkk is confident
his hiatus didn’t diminish his skills.
“[It’s
called Based On A True Story. It’s hot. It’s one of my
best albums that I did yet,” he boasted. “I [just] wrapped up the
album, it’s coming on September 7th.”
Silkk is equally
confident another No Limit Solider who has been M.I.A. will also get his day
to shine.
“We just
behind him [C-Murder] 100 percent,” Silkk said. “We trying to get
him out, but it is messed up when the system is sometime crooked.”
Based On A
True Story
will be released September 7th on The New No Limit Records/KochEntertainment.
The album will
feature guest appearances by Petey Pablo and Master P. The first single and
video, “We Like Them Girls,” has been made available to radio and
video outlets.
