Taxstone Headed To Trial For Allegedly Murdering Troy Ave's BodyguardTNovember

EXCLUSIVE: Taxstone Murder Trial Set For November

Taxstone is already in prison on federal weapons charges, and now he will stand trial for the murder of Troy Ave’s bodyguard.

(AllHipHop News) Popular podcaster/media personality Daryl “Taxstone” Campbell is slated to head to trial for the murder of Troy Ave’s bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter.

Tax is facing a life sentence for a fatal shootout inside of Irving Plaza in May of 2016.

A heated dispute between Taxstone and Troy Ave, born Roland Collins, erupted into violence during a fight in a green room of the venue.

When the gun smoke cleared, four people were injured, including Troy Ave, and the Brooklyn rapper’s bodyguard Ronald “Banga” McPhatter, was murdered.

Troy was caught on camera pursuing Taxstone out of the green room while letting off shots in the middle of the panicked crowd.

Police ultimately retrieved a gun from Troy Ave’s van, and they concluded it was the gun that was used to kill McPhatter.

After an investigation, police found Taxstone’s DNA on the 9-millimeter Kel-Tec semi-automatic handgun’s trigger, handgrip, and magazine.

Investigators also maintain a friend of Taxstone’s obtained the gun from another person in Florida.

But the case could be very difficult for jurors because DNA from Troy Ave was also detected on the firearm.

“We are preparing for his trial and he is presumed to be innocent,” Taxstone’s lawyer Kenneth Montgomery told AllHipHop.com.

In June of 2017, Taxstone pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm as a felon and receiving a firearm in interstate commerce and is awaiting sentencing.

Taxstone’s murder trial is slated to kick off in New York on November 12, 2019.
