Three 6 Mafia's DJ Paul and Travis Scott Settle $20 Million Lawsuit

Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul and Travis Scott Settle $20 Million Lawsuit

Three 6 Mafia founder DJ Paul has settled a lawsuit with Travis Scott over his hit single “No Bystanders.”

(AllHipHop News) Travis Scott and Three 6 Mafia star DJ Paul have settled a copyright lawsuit, in which the rapper was accused of stealing the hook for his tune “No Bystanders” from the hip-hop group’s track “Tear Da Club Up.”

DJ Paul, real name Paul Beauregard, made the accusations in a $20 million copyright infringement lawsuit filed earlier this year.

However, he later downplayed the legal spat, insisting there was “no beef” between him and the Astroworld star.

Now, Paul has revealed that the issue has been resolved – apparently without having to get lawyers involved.

“He called me up and we basically figured it out right there on the spot,” Paul said. “He was cool, he was like, ‘Let’s knock it out. Whatchu need?’”

While the financial details of the settlement weren’t revealed, all four members of Three 6 Mafia now have writing credits on “No Bystanders.”

Paul also clarified his initial allegation that Scott had tried to sneak the “Tear Da Club Up” hook into the tune without properly crediting the group, adding: “He really thought that the business got taken care of with the song. It was some other label issues that didn’t get the paperwork to me… But this whole time he thought it was clear. I was like, ‘Nobody ever called me’.”

Now Paul is looking to the future, and is looking “forward to some future collaborations with” Scott.

When asked what that might sound like, he joked: “Oh man, to be honest, he did so good with Tear Da Club Up, I’d probably pick another Three 6 song!”
