(AllHipHop News) Timbaland has reportedly settled a tax debt he owed to the U.S. government.

The rapper and music producer and his ex-wife Monique Idlett were hit with a federal tax lien earlier in the year, with court documents from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) claiming that he owed approximately $3.8 million in back taxes.

Documents showed that Timbaland, real name Timothy Mosley, owed money to the IRS from 2012, 2014 and 2015, and he was urged to pay up or risk the organization seizing his property and assets.

But to avoid drama, the hip-hop star has now paid up the money owed, according to reports, which stated the “If We Ever Meet Again” hitmaker paid the balance “in full” and that the lien had been released.

Timbaland has had a turbulent couple of years in regards to his personal life, with Monique filing for divorce for the second time in July 2015.

He also opened up his battles with prescription medication in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine last month, where he claimed that he started taking OxyContin in his 30s for pain stemming from a gunshot wound he suffered as a teenager, and over 15 years he spiraled into a cycle of addiction and depression.

However, the 45-year-old has since been focused on his journey to sobriety, as well as his health, family, and music.
