Tommy Mottola has entered into a deal with the
Universal Music Group and has launched Casablanca Records.

career."
Mottola said that after examining many different
options, he took Universal due to the "right combination of elements."
"I could not ask for a better partner than
Doug; our close friendship began over twenty years ago, and I am thrilled to
be working with him now," Mottola said.
Mottola comes to Universal after serving as Chairman
and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment for ten years. During his tenure he developed
such acts as Nas, Destiny’s Child, J.Lo, Mariah Carey and others.
