Rapper Tory Lanez appeared by phone today for a hearing at L.A. County Superior Court today (October 13th) for allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney charged the Toronto rapper with assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
The rapper has not entered into a plea yet, because his lawyer asked for a continuance. But his bail was set at $190,000 and Tory must stay at least 100 yards away from Meg if they happen to run across each other.
Tory and Meg infamously clashed following a night out at a Hollywood Hills party. Shortly after the altercation Meg was shot.
“My initial silence about what happened was out of fear for myself and my friends,” Megan wrote in a perfectly timed op-ed in The New York Times, which dropped today.
“Even as a victim, I have been met with skepticism and judgment. The way people have publicly questioned and debated whether I played a role in my own violent assault proves that my fears about discussing what happened were, unfortunately, warranted,” Megan wrote.
Last week, Tory Lanez said he was confident the “truth” about his shooting drama with Megan Thee Stallion will “come to light” after he was officially charged over the summer incident.
⏰ will 🗣 … and the truth will come to the light … I have all faith in God to show that … love to all my fans and people that have stayed true to me & know my heart … a charge is not a conviction . If you have supported me or meg thru this , I genuinely appreciate u .

Taking to Twitter Tory Lanez used emojis as he posted, “(Time) will (tell) … and the truth will come to the light … I have all faith in God to show that …”
Thanking followers for their support, he continued, “love to all my fans and people that have stayed true to me & know my heart,” before stressing that he has yet to be found guilty.
“A charge is not a conviction,” he declared, adding, “If you have supported me or meg thru this, I genuinely appreciate u.”
Tory and Megan have been locked in a war of words ever since the summer incident after the Texas native confirmed Tory Lanez was the gunman behind her injuries.
He went on to deny the accusations on his latest album, Daystar, suggesting Megan made up the claims out of jealousy. If convicted, Tory Lanez, real name, Daystar Peterson, could face up to 22 years behind bars.
