Streets Disciple
serves as a test to meter Nas’ success after a two year hiatus. For the
first time since I Am, Nas is bringing a massive guest list to his double album.
While Ludacris and Busta
Rhymes will reign regardless, one of those guests depends on this album to possibly
boost a movement.
Rising Son, who won the
Sony Records Remix Contest early in the year is excited to see the response
from his work on, “Thieves Theme (UK Remix),” a bonus track on the
album.
“That’s a big
thing for [Europe], we’ve got a UK artist on the album. It’s taken
so long for people to actually wake up to what’s going on,” Rising
Son told AllHipHop.com.
He added, “Now, I’m
seeing that the US is looking to the UK a lot. Fat Man Scoop has got a program
over here called, ‘Chances.’ Dame Dash is running it red at the
moment over here. He just signed an act over here. In the States it’s
running dry a bit.”
Rising Son has spoken with
Nas’ management in hopes of joining the rapper for dates on his European
tour after his Streets Disciple album is released.
Rising Son remains unsigned,
but hopes to gain exposure through the Nas album, and a mixtape hitting streets
soon.
