Uncle Luke has signed
on to host an X-rated show for the BBC network as part of their 1Xtra Hip-Hop
Weekend.
The former 2LiveCrew head honcho and original XXX bad man will
serve as host to ‘XXXtra,’ BBC’s radio show that focuses on the relationship
between sex and hip-hop.
The show will feature Campbell playing and discussing some of
hip-hop’s most sexually charged tracks of all time.
Video vixen Karrine “Superhead” Steffans is also
scheduled to make a guest appearance on the X-rated program.
‘XXXtra’ is part of BBC’s 1Xtra Hip Hop Weekend which
is scheduled to take place on September 30 thru October 2.
Arguably one of the nation’s most controversial hip-hop figures,
Uncle Luke is also expected to share the most intimate moments and memories
of his 20 year career.
Campbell and the 2 Live Crew rose to fame in the late eighties
when they became the center piece of a Supreme Court battle over obscene lyrics
and freedom of speech rights in the United States.
The 1Xtra Hip Hop Weekend will also feature DJ Semtex broadcasting
live from the annual Power Summit in the Bahamas with Kanye West, Busta, Common
and The Game.
Performances from Slim Thug, Q Tip, De La Soul, Black Sheep,
Mike Jones, David Banner, Akon, Diddy and T.I. have been scheduled as well.
‘XXXtra’ will air
on BBC Radio 1Xtra on Sunday 2 October at 0200-0400 (GMT).
