The world’s top 21
DJ’s competed last week at London’s Carling Apollo Theater in England.for
the DMC/Technics 2004 World DJ Championship.
This year’s title
went to the United States’ I.Emerge.
In winning, I.Emerge becomes
the sixth American to win the DMC World Championship world crown, which has
also been worn by Roc Raida, Cash Money, Q-Bert, Craze, Canada’s A-Trak and others.
I.Emerge, a member of the
5th Platoon Dj collective (Neil Armstrong, Daddy Dog, Kuttin Kandi, Vin Roc,
Do Boy and Roli Rho) was awarded an Ortofon gold stylus trophy, a pair of gold
Technics turntables and a gold Technics mixer.
Rafik from Germany landed
in second place, while Canada’s defending world champ DJ D#### took home
third place.
Other big winners for the
evening included Japan’s Akakabe, who won the 2004 Battle for World Supremacy
Champion title, while C2C of France took home the 2004 DJ Teams Battle prize.
At the moment, DMC USA is
organizing the 2005 American Battleground tour.
