All of his success over the last 12 months led to Apple Music naming Lil Baby as the company’s Artist of the Year. To celebrate this accomplishment, the 26-year-old Atlanta native performed a 13-minute set of his songs for the streaming service.
“This year has changed me a lot. Now that I’m an artist, I feel like my voice can get heard through my music and I needed to say something. And my fans listened. So thank you to my fans and thank you to Apple Music for giving me a special way to connect to my fans,” says Lil Baby.
Fellow Hip Hop stars Roddy Ricch and Megan Thee Stallion were also 2020 Apple Music Award winners and performers. Ricch received Top Song of the Year (“The Box”) and Top Album of the Year (Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial). Megan was crowned Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
