(AllHipHop News) The BET network finally honored Kimberly “Lil Kim” Jones. The rap icon was recognized with the I Am Hip Hop Award at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards.
Lil Kim also hit the stage inside Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Center. She reunited with her Junior M.A.F.I.A. comrade Lil Cease for the special set that included performances of “Player’s Anthem” and “Crush on You.”
In addition, fellow Hip Hop stars Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliott, and Swizz Beatz praised the Queen Bee for her three-decade career in a video package. Maybach Music Group founder Rick Ross presented Kim with the I Am Hip Hop Award trophy.
Lil Kim is scheduled to release her official fifth studio album, 9, on October 11. The Brooklyn representative recruited Rick Ross, Musiq Soulchild, Rich The Kid, O.T. Genasis, and City Girls for the forthcoming project.
