Rock the Vote has
teamed with DJ Whoo Kid to release a new mixtape they hope will lead Hip-Hop enthusiasts
to the polls.
The new mixtape
features exclusive songs and freestyles from such heavyweights as Snoop Dogg,
Lloyd Banks, Jadakiss, Pharrell Williams, Game and guest appearances by Nas,
P. Diddy, Halle Berry and others.
“This tape
is sick,” Whoo Kid said. “I got so much support from some of the
top names in music for this project and we can’t thank them enough. I
think people will be amazed at how well this tape flows considering the eclectic
blend of musical styles on it.”
Music aside, Rock
the Vote adopted the popular mixtape format to help get voters into the voting
booths for the November 2nd presidential elections.
“The potent
political message spun out in by this all-star lineup will inspire the Hip-Hop
generation to register, vote and represent,” said Jehmu Greene, president
of Rock the Vote/Rap the Vote. “This will be the election where the Hip-Hop generation finds its voice.”
The mixtape is
sponsored by the The United Food and Commercial Workers International Union
(UFCW)), which boasts over 1.4 million members.
The tape will be
distributed to union members as well and drops worldwide this weekend.
