(AllHipHop News) Movie fans that have been anticipating the next installment of the Bad Boy franchise starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence may have to wait even longer.
Bad Boys 3, or Bad Boys for Life, lost its director.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Joe Carnahan dropped out of the position because of scheduling conflicts.
However, other sources tell the industry publication that “creative differences” was the cause for the change.
Carnahan was also writing the script for the film, so producers will have to find a new director and writer.
Sony Pictures had planned to release Bad Boys for Life on November 8.
It is not clear if the production has been pushed back because of the turnover in the director’s chair.
Bad Boys II came out in 2003, and it grossed over $130 million in North America.
The original Bad Boys hit theaters in 1995 and collected $66 million in the domestic box office.
Action movie specialist Michael Bay directed the first two motion pictures.
In recent years, both Lawrence and Smith have spoken publicly about their involvement with Bad Boy 3.
