Xzibit has landed
the cover of Electronic Arts’ NFL Street 2 with All-pro New York Giants
tight end Jeremy Shockey.
Xzibit’s
cover marks the first time a music artist has been featured on the front of
an EA Sports video game title.
The rapper provides
extensive voiceovers for the game and teaches gamers the rules of street football
in the game.
"If it wasn’t
for the kind of street football played in NFL Street 2, I would not be where
I am today," Shockey said. "This is how most NFL players started their
careers and now you can play at a new level, an-all new high flying football
game with incredible wall moves and new modes."
Dubbed “the
Rucker Park of the football scene,” players square off on a half-dirt,
half-grass fenced in field, surrounded by high-rise projects.
Online play, additional
gameplay modes and interaction with the walls are among the new features of
NFL Street 2.
“Our goal
with NFL Street 2 was to make the gameplay of the first version of NFL Street
obsolete,” said Jason Barnes, designer of NFL Street 2. “To do this,
we needed to add new gameplay features and improve on the original. Once we
got the wall catches up and running, we knew we had added something unique and
fun to football gaming.”

Xzibit will host MTV’s 11th Annual MTV Europe Awards in Rome tonight (November
18th).
