Derek Fisher Gets One-Two Punch From New York Knicks & Matt Barnes?

Earlier today (Feb. 8), the New York Knicks announced that Derek Fisher is no longer the team’s coach, this according to ESPN. During a dismal  23-31 second-season start Fisher has been fired from the lucrative $5 M position.

Last season, Fisher — who previously had no NBA head coaching experience — recorded a lackluster 17-65 season. Currently ranked 12th in the Eastern Conference , sources suggest that Fisher has struggled with the player-to-coach transition.

While Derek contemplates his next move, Matt Barnes, seems to be sending subliminal shots towards his former Lakers’ teammate. In October of last year, the two engaged in a physical confrontation regarding Matt’s ex-wife, Gloria Govan. Barnes was subsequently suspended for his actions.

Just last month, Matt Barnes was fined $35,000 for violent remarks he made towards Fisher. So, today when the the Grizzles forward posted a seemingly smug photo to his Instagram, speculations swirled that it was directed towards Fisher.
