O’Shea Jackson Jr. Isn’t Feeling The ‘Roots’ Remake

IS IT TIME TO SEE A WIDER RANGE OF FILMS STARRING AFRICAN AMERICANS?

O’Shea Jackson Jr. seems to agree with Uncle Snoop in regards to his feelings on the ‘Roots’ remake. Snoop Dogg encouraged fans to boycott the new “Roots” as he felt filmmakers should create new material about the success of African Americans up to present day. O’Shea’s views on the remake seem to align. O’Shea Jackson Jr. says enough slavery already! There are more inspiring stories to tell!

“All respect to all filmmakers, but we do have stories of triumph. We don’t necessarily have to keep getting beat up in order to triumph and end up as a butler in the end of the series or movie,” said O’Shea.

O’Shea wants to get to a lot of other stories as a filmmaker himself. What are your thoughts? Did we need a ‘Roots’ remake, or should filmmakers have used those resources to tell other [positive] African American stories?
