The rapper is highly outspoken and honestly places himself in a lot of these positions. While he offered some good opinions in the discussion, he also offered some opinions on things he may need further education on. Some of the good things he spoke on was his work as a sound engineer at 15 and how he understands frequency. He also spoke about having to dumb down his music if another artist has a hot song that’s dumbed down. Some of the wilder comments came from him discussing Biggie and Tupac. He says he blames the Notorious B.I.G and Tupac Shakur for making all the kids want to pick up guns. He says he blames them for glamorizing guns and violence. That opinion was wild because there was an entire Gangsta Rap period before Tupac and Biggie emerged. He spoke none of that period whatsoever. To blame Biggie and Tupac for gun violence in the community is absurd. The second wild statement came when XXXTentacion stated that he was a better rapper than Tupac. “Bro I’m better than Tupac. He’s a rapper whose lyrics are being examined and dissected from every angle. The man has truly become his own person as an entertainer. Today’s wild Offset story surrounds him using the word “queer” in one of his latest verses. The verse in question is spit on “Boss Life,” a YFN Lucci song featuring Offset. Offset spits, “Pinky ring crystal clear/40k spent on a private lear, 60k solitaire/I can not vibe with q*eers, I got the heart of a bear/bussin’ em down by the pair.” From a distance the lyrics seem harmless, but the lyrics seem malicious when compared to previous allegations about Migos possibly being homophobic. This all goes back to a profile story the group did for the February 2017 issue of Rolling Stone magazine. The group had the following to say when asked about fellow rapper iLoveMakonnen coming out as gay. “They supported him?” said Quavo. Offset continued, “That’s because the world is f-cked up.” “This world is not right,” added Takeoff before Quavo finished the statement. Quavo stated, “We ain’t saying it’s nothing wrong with the gays, but he first came out talking about trapping and selling Molly, doing all that. That’s wack, bro.” ​ That whole statement was clearly misinterpreted as they stated they weren’t talking about gay people & were more so speaking on iLoveMakonnen being a trap rapper. That one interview created a whole narrative around the group. One with effects that we’re still seeing today. Offset later offered an apology for the lyrics. “Tryna make me out to b a homophobic ima whole Gangsta I don’t even speak on sexuality…the difinition ain’t even that tryna make it about gays I work with them all the time at events dealing with fashion, tv shows.,” said Offset. It’s not worded perfect, but you can tell these are the words of a man who feels irritated and attacked after being thrust into the media spotlight. Charges against Nelly were dropped after the alleged victim refused to testify. He was facing 2nd degree rape charges. According to The Jasmine Brand, Nelly and the alleged victim had different stories. This was determined after they obtained police documents regarding the matter. In her story the alleged victim told police that Nelly threw her on the bed after forcefully taking off her pants. She also says that he told her “You’re gonna take this d**k.” The alleged victim also claimed that Nelly asked her not to get off the bus until their next stop and offered her $2500. She said she turned down the offer and somebody else pushed her off the bus while Nelly tossed a $100 bill at her. However, Nelly told police that he had consensual sex with the alleged victim and she got mad because she thought he was messing with one of his dancers. The dancer was also on the bus at the time of the alleged. Nelly has remained in a happy relationship following the incident. The whole thing sounds like 50 shades of foolishness, but I don’t know. He talked about Kris Kross selling 7 million records of “Jump” before OutKast blew up and nobody credits that to Atlanta. He also spoke about performing with Da Brat at the infamous Source Awards where Andre 3000 voiced the famous “The south got something to say” line. He simply stated that when OutKast touched the stage that night they felt like they were from somewhere else, but nobody felt that way when he and Da Brat were on stage. The other topic people are discussing is JD saying Bow Wow has more #1 records than Drake. Which is not factual, but people find it to be fictitious anyway due to Bow Wow’s recent actions. Drake has more #1’s across different charts than Bow Wow when the number is actually fact checked. JD more than likely has never checked the actual singles and was just defending his protege. Drake’s number of #1 singles is quite astounding for the performer to just be beginning his ascent into his prime. Bow Wow had a nice run, but not quite Drake level. The imprint signed Lil Uzi Vert to a deal in 2015 and spoke about their situation to Pigeons and Planes in 2017. “When we found him, he didn’t have a real situation going,” said Cannon. He continued, “He was doing things on things own, trying to get his music on. I felt like with our supernatural abilities we could take him out of here, and that’s basically all it comes down to. Em never really even said his name. Clearly, some of his Slaughter House brother’s commentary on the new album (which shall no be named) rubbed the Detroit rapper the wrong way. Now, there are rumors than Eminem might circle back and try to get Budden’s “cleaned up.” I am not sure why this is such a “thing,” since Em’s album is just not that good. One aspiring rapper recently took his chances at getting a hit to the next level. The Rapper is a MMG fan and was on a mission to get the attention of “The Biggest Boss” Rick Ross. Rick Ross is an entrepreneur/businessman. Owning various businesses and restaurants, Rick Ross has a chain of Checkers and Wingstop restaurants throughout the country. One of his locations resides in Memphis, TN. Here is where said aspiring rapper decided to rob the local Wingstop restaurant owned by Ross in an attempt to get his attention. According to WREG, police received a tip about the aspiring rapper possibly being involved. A Wingstop employee would later identify him in a police lineup. Police later told the Wingstop manager that the aspiring rapper’s motive for the robbery was to simply get Rick Ross’ attention. One customer of the restaurant had an interesting opinion about the entire matter when asked by local news reporters. “It caught his attention, but I don’t know if he is going to get signed if that’s the case. I doubt it,” said the customer. ​ Wow! We know Rozay loves himself some wings and Wingstop, but I don’t think he likes them served with a side a crime.
