Some young director just got the attention of the whole world, and it was all just a cruel joke. Late last week, a video surfaced online that was posted to the YouTube page of director Austin Christianson. The video was entitled “Kanye West Presents Cruel Winter” and had a “Copyright DONDA” inscription under the descriptions, so naturally we all thought this was an official sneak peek trailer from Yeezy. I should have known when I googled Kanye West and the director’s name and nothing came up. Well, Fuse caught up with said director, and he basically admitted that the video was being pitched and Yeezy had nothing to do with putting it together. Check out what he said below: “Without getting into many details, I will say that the trailer was independently made and the video is essentially a concept trailer. It’s used for pitching an idea and/or concept to a client. With that said, the video was being used for pitching purposes and it’s naturally intended only for the client to see.” When pressed about whether or not Kanye has even seen the video, which features a narration from former President George H. W. Bush, the director said, “I can’t tell you any more than what’s already out there.” Which basically means ‘no, Kanye has never seen this video, but hopefully he has seen it now and he will offer me a job.’ Do you think Kanye should hire this guy? I mean the video is very “Kanye-ish” and had that Illuminati undertone to it, which all of the rap stars love these days. I think it needed more demonic imagery, though….I’m being sarcastic. This director, Austin Christianson just pulled off a huge publicity stunt. His biggest claim to fame before this was directing a music video for Wiz Khalifa. Hip-Hop Rumors: Did Kanye West Enlist George H. W. Bush For “Cruel Winter”?!

I think we are all pretty convinced that there will in fact be a Cruel Winter G.O.O.D. Music compilation album coming our way. For those who still don’t believe, in typical Yeezy style, a short trailer was just released entitled “Kanye West/Cruel Summer”.  The trailer is less than a minute long and shows a forest with bare trees in the winter, along with images of a pond, leaves, and tree branches. What’s interesting is the voiceover in the teaser is voiced by former U.S. President George H. W. Bush. In fact, it’s a speech called “New World Order” that Bush gave in 1991 about the Gulf War. Check out part of the speech below: “We have before us the opportunity to forge for ourselves and for future generations a new world order. A world where the rule of law, not the law of the jungle, governs the conduct of nations. When we are successful, and we will be, we have a real chance at this new world order.”  This is all pretty weird considering Kanye’s past with George H. W. Bush. Bush has even said that his worst moment in his presidency was when Kanye said he “doesn’t care about Black people.” I guess Yeezy found some inspiration in the speech. Roscoe Dash Says Kanye West Didn’t Give Him Credit on “Cruel Summer” Tracklisting

(AllHipHop News) Atlanta rapper and songwriter Roscoe Dash recently took to Twitter to voice his displeasure with not being named in the credits on Kanye West’s newly released G.O.O.D. music compilation, Cruel Summer. Roscoe voiced his opinion on the social media site, proclaiming that he deserved credit for the track “To the World”, and that he also wrote the hook to Wale and Miguel’s #1 hit song, “Lotus Flower Bomb”. In the rant on Twitter, Roscoe referenced an interview that Kanye West released on YouTube. [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AASuNLtz45A&w=560&h=315] “Everybody go get the G.O.O.D album and listen to #1 then watch @kanyewest interview … & tell me y I’m not on the credits,” Roscoe tweeted. After several hours of comments from fans, and after setting the blog world on fire with his incendiary statements, Roscoe decided to clarify that he solely wrote the hook on the Wale song, and not the whole song itself. “After getting off the phone with @wale I feel like I need to clarify I WROTE THE HOOK for “lotus flowerbomb” not his verses,” Roscoe clarified. Kanye West Ponders the Words “N***a” and “B***h”

(AllHipHop News) After announcing the official tracklist for his G.O.O.D. Music compilation just yesterday, Kanye West took to Twitter to ponder the vocabulary used in Hip-Hop as well as his recent song inspired by Kim Kardashian called “Perfect B*tch.” West has also used the word ‘b*tch’ before on the Watch The Throne album for the song, “That’s My B*tch.” Contemplating vocabulary that is acceptable and unacceptable, West tweeted: “I usually never tweet questions but I struggle with this so here goes…  Is the word B*TCH acceptable? “To be more specific, is it acceptable for a man to call a woman a b#### even if it’s endearing… “Has hip hop conditioned us to accept this word? Do we love this word as much as we love the word N*GGA in an endearing way?” With regards to how radio filters profanity, he wondered what it would be like they allowed cursing on American radio. “What if there was no profanity… What if we decided to legalise profanity in a sense? In France they play songs with cursing on the radio. “Excuse my French but I’m in France… “I was recently questioned about the use of the word B*TCH in my music and initially  was offended by anyone questioning anything in my music… “I will admit that I sometimes go back an omit cursing from my records.  I like to use profanity as a tool and not a crutch. I’m not tweeting to say what we need and what we don’t… I just wanted to think out loud with you guys today…” Fans don’t have long to wait on his next choice of words for his lyrics. Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. music family’s Cruel Summer compilation is due on September 18.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Kid Cudi The Movie Star?

Fresh off of his starring role in Kanye West’s new short film, “Cruel Summer” and a starring role on HBO’s original series, “How To Make It In America”, we hear Kid Cudi is going to be taking a break from music to focus on acting. Logan Hill, senior editor at GQ is currently out in Cannes, France for the Cannes Film Festival, and chatted with Cudi about his acting aspirations.
