T.I. and Ludacris Set to Headline “2012 Atlanta Music Midtown Festival” This September

(AllHipHop News) Organizers for the 2012 Music Midtown Festival have announced T.I. and Ludacris as participating headliners for their two-day event, to take place on September 21-22 at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia. T.I. will be one of the headliners on Saturday, September 21, along with indie rock band The Avett Brothers and the 11-time Grammy Award-winning Foo Fighters. Ludacris will headline on Sunday, September 22, along with Pearl Jam, mash-up DJ Girl Talk, and Florence + the Machine. Others acts slated to hit the stage over the course of the festival include Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Van Hunt, Civil Twilight, O’Brother, and LP. The Music Midtown Festival was first held in 1994 and for the next 11 years, until 2005, when organizers put the festival on a hiatus due to declining attendance and ticket sales. The festival was relaunched last year as a successful one-day concert, and will return this September as a two-day event. Tickets can be purchased beginning on April 28 at 12PM as part of a limited-time-only “early-bird special” – one-day passes are $55 and two-day passes are $100, and will increase to $65 and $120, respectively. V.I.P. and Super V.I.P. tickets will also be available for purchase. Lil Wayne To Perform With Genre Bending Group During Grammys

(AllHipHop News) Lil Wayne will join a diverse group of artists for a performance during a special segment of the 54th Annual Grammys this year. Lil Wayne will join artists like Chris Brown, Foo Fighters, deadmau5 and David Guetta during a tribute to dance/electronic music. The segment is the first ever Grammy spotlight on the Dance/Electronica Music genre of music, according for the organization. The collective of artists will perform in a special outdoor tent adjacent to The Staples Center. Lil Wayne is nominated for Best Rap Performance for “Look At Me Now” (with Chris Brown and Busta Rhymes). He also has two nods in Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “I’m On One” (with DJ Khaled, Drake and Rick Ross) and “Motivation” (with Kelly Rowland). Lil Wayne is also up for Best Rap Song for “Look At Me Now”; and Best Rap Album for Tha Carter IV. Queens, New York rap legend LL Cool J is playing host to the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, which airs on Sunday, February 12 at 8 ET.

Action Bronson, A$AP Rocky, Mac Miller, And Others Added To Bamboozle Festival Lineup

(AllHipHop News) The 2012 Bamboozle Festival has announced the addition of a number of emerging and buzzing Hip-Hop artists to its three-day lineup, which takes place from May 18-20. This year’s Bamboozle Festival will also serve as the 10th anniversary celebration for the concert series, which has switched locations between Asbury Park and the Meadowlands in New Jersey since its inception in 2003. Musicians Action Bronson, Outasight, Riff Raff, Mike Posner, Mac Miller, Kreayshawn, A$AP Rocky, and world-renowned artist David Garibaldi will perform and make appearances at this year’s festival, with a number of artists yet to be revealed. The Bamboozle Festival, which is primarily a Rock, Punk, and Pop-based event, has ramped up its outreach to Hip-Hop artists to help expand the festival’s brand. Artists such as Snoop Dogg, Method Man, and Lil Wayne have all either performed or headlined the festival in the past. 2012’s main acts are primarily Rock, with the likes of Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters, Blink 182, and Incubus headlining the three-day bill.
