Tiny Lister aka "Deebo" Faces Five Years In Jail Over Mortgage Fraud
(AllHipHop News) Popular actor Tommy “Tiny” Lister a.k.a. “Deebo” from the “Friday” series of movies, pleaded guilty to mortgage fraud yesterday (August 31). Lister is accused of defrauding lenders out of $3.8 million, by using fake information and bank statements to obtain mortgages on four different properties in Los Angeles. After the mortgages were obtained on the houses, Lister and three other associates allegedly used the properties as collateral. Lister also admitted to withdrawing over $1 million in loans against the properties, which were never paid back. According to TMZ.com, Tiny Lister is facing up to five years in prison. The news of Lister’s possible incarceration, could seriously impact the production of Ice Cube’s new installment of “Friday.” Ice Cube had stated in previous interviews that he was writing the script for “Last Friday,” which he hopes will include original cast member Chris Tucker. In addition to Friday, Tiny Lister has had cameos, or starred in number of popular movies like Master P.’s “I Got The Hook Up,” “The Dark Knight,” “The Wash,” “The Players Club,” “Jackie Brown” and others.

Ice Cube Gives Update On “Last Friday”; Talks Future Directorial Projects
(AllHipHop News) Back in November, rumors stated that Ice Cube would be writing, producing, and possibly directing the final installment in the Friday franchise, tentatively titled Last Friday, and that the first film’s co-star, Chis Tucker, would be returning. In an interview with Collider, Ice Cube, who is doing press rounds for his role in the upcoming comedy 21 Jump Street, offered a significant update on the highly-anticpiated sequel, including the revelation that he has already begun writing the film. “There’s a lot of movement. I’m writing the script right now, so we worked out a deal with New Line. The ball is rolling. We invited everybody back and we’ll have a fun movie.” When asked if Chris Tucker, who famously portrayed the character Smokey in the first Friday almost 15 years ago, would be returning, Cube responded with “I hope so.” Tucker, who has not starred in a film since Rush Hour 3, is currently filming David O. Russell’s The Silver Lining’s Playbook, marking his first return to the silver screen since 2007. The film is set for theatrical release this November and also stars Robert DeNiro and Bradley Cooper. Having directed the ESPN 30 For 30 documentary “Straight Outta L.A.” last year, it was only natural for Collider to ask Cube if he had plans for any future directorial projects outside of Last Friday. “Yeah it’s always in the works,” he answered. “I gotta find pet projects, things that I’m really into. If not, I’ll just produce. If I find something that I just know I have to do, then I’ll direct.” Ice Cube can next be seen in the comedy 21 Jump Street which hits theaters on March 21.
