VH1 Celebrates 15 Years Of “Behind The Music” With New Episodes On T.I., Ne-Yo, Gym Class Heroes
(AllHipHop News) VH1 is celebrating 15 years of the popular series “Behind The Music,” by producing eight new episodes on artists like T.I., Ne-Yo, Gym Class Heroes, Pink, Tony Braxton, Carrie Underwood, Train and Nicole Scherzinger. T.I. will see his “Behind The Music” updated to include commentary on the past several years of his life, including two jail stints, his hit reality show “T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle,” his literary career and his upcoming 8th studio album. Ne-Yo’s “Behind The Music” special will feature exclusive footage of the singer/songwriter performing at The Apollo as a member of a boy band named Envy, who opened for a new act, Destiny’s Child. The Gym Class Heroes’ “Behind The Music” episode will delve into the group’s origins, as well as Travie McCoy’s success as a solo artist. Ne-Yo’s episode of “Behind The Music” airs on September 23, Gym Class Heroes’ airs October 14 and T.I.’s airs on November 4.

Erykah Badu and Gym Class Heroes Tapped to Headline 2012 Afro-Punk Festival This August In Brooklyn
(AllHipHop News) Following last year’s cancellation due to weather, the organizers for the 2012 Afro-Punk Festival have announced a number of performers for this year’s event. The 2012 Afro-Punk Festival, which will take place on August 25-26 in Brooklyn’s Commodore Barry Park, will be headlined by Erykah Badu and Gym Class Heroes. Also on the bill for the two-day event are Janelle Monae, Das Racist, Cannibanoids, Skindred, Ninjasonik, Toro Y Moi, Spank Rock, Bad Rabbits, and many more. Outasight Set to Perform with The Roots Tonight on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”
Yonkers native Outasight is set to perform his most recent single, “Tonight Is the Night”, tonight (January 17) with The Roots on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.” The song, which has been climbing the charts, is currently in rotation at over 115 Top 40 radio stations across the country, making Outasight a name, face, and voice to remember in the new music landscape.
