Bernard Hopkins Talks Boxing with Sway; Returns to the Ring March 9th at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center

Bernard Hopkins makes his return to the ring in Brooklyn, NY on March 9th of this year. As a way to pay homage to the Notorious B.I.G., Hopkins looks to give the Barclays Center an official boxing christening on the 16 year anniversary of Biggie’s passing. At the age of 48 Hopkins is one of the oldest boxers to step in the ring, and as a minority owner in Oscar de la Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions, Bernard steps inside the ropes for the first time since the controversial loss against Chad Dawson when he hurt his shoulder and lost his WBC Light Heavyweight title. But, after an appeal it was ruled that Dawson intentionally hurt Hopkins and the belt was rightfully returned to Hopkins. Now Hopkins steps back in the ring versus the renowned knockout puncher, Tavoris Cloud who has knocked out 19 of his 24 opponents. Either way it should be an interesting fight as Hopkins brings his 52 Wins (34 knockouts, 18 decisions), 6 Losses, 2 Draws, 2 No Contest record to vie for a win for the first time in over a year.
