(AllHipHop News) Justin Timberlake’s triumphant comeback doesn’t seem to be slowing down. After pushing 968,000 units of his 3rd album, The 20/20 Experience, in its opening week and 318,000 copies in its second week, Billboard is reporting that Timberlake is on track to sell another 150,000 to 170,000 this week. That total would keep the former *N SYNC member in the top spot on the Billboard 200 album chart for the third consecutive week. This would be the first time an album by a male artist would have remained at number one for its opening three weeks of release since Eminem’s Recovery in the summer of 2010. The 20/20 Experience is the first overall three-peater since Red by Taylor Swift achieved the feat twice in late 2012/early 2013. Timberlake’s second single “Mirrors” is climbing the chart as well. The song is right outside the top 10 in the #11 spot. Odd Future’s Tyler, The Creator is ready to join Justin in the top ten on the album chart next week. His latest LP Wolf is expected to sell between 75,000 and 80,000 copies. If those numbers hold up, this would be a jump from the first week sales of his Goblin album released in 2011. That album sold 45,000 copies in its first week which landed Tyler at #5 on Billboard’s chart. The OFWGKTA frontman upped the ante on guest appearances on his latest LP. (AllHipHop News) Pop superstar Justin Timberlake continued his promo run on late night television this week when he stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon yesterday. Fallon could not avoid asking the singer about the perceived dig at rapper Kanye West while performing on Saturday Night Live over the weekend. During his performance of “Suit & Tie” on SNL Timberlake changed one of the lines of the song to say, “my hit’s so sick got rappers acting dramatic.” [ALSO READ: Hip-Hop Rumors: Did Justin Timberlake Diss Kanye West?] Many observers took that lyric change as a response to Kanye’s recent rant in London where he made the statement, “I got love for Hov, but I ain’t f###### with that ‘Suit & Tie’.” [ALSO READ: Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Kanye West Dissing Jay-Z, Beyonce, And Justin Timberlake?] While on Fallon, Timberlake addressed his SNL rendition after the host pointed out that the lyrics were different. “Did it seem that way? I don’t remember that. Did I change a line? It is live. You know really everyone keep calm,” said Timberlake. Fallon then added, “keep calm and ‘Kanye on’ you guys.” “For the record, I absolutely love Kanye,” Timberlake admits. “We love Kanye right?” Kanye also had love for Justin at one point too. While West doesn’t seem to be a fan of Justin’s new single, he did praise the former boy band member as his greatest musical rival from his generation back in 2007. “My biggest inspiration and biggest competition is Justin Timberlake,” West told XXL magazine. “We push each other. I look at me and Justin like Prince and Michael Jackson in their day.” During his Fallon appearance JT goes on talks about his new album The 20/20 Experience and his upcoming summer stadium tour with frequent Kanye West collaborator Jay-Z. Formerly a member of Pop boy band NLT, Texas-bred R&B singer Travis Garland has forged a new following and is reintroducing himself with his latest mixtape, Fashionably Late Volume II. According to the L.A. Times, after his release from Interscope Records, Garland took to YouTube to perform covers. He garnered more 10 million views and soon partnered with producers, Stereotypes (Chris Brown, Justin Bieber) to start working on his first EP, Fashionably Late, Volume 1. Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake to Headline Wireless Festival 2013
(AllHipHop News) Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake are both heading across the pond to close-out two nights of the 9th annual Wireless Festival in London this summer. The “Suit & Tie” collaborators will be the respective headlining acts for the July 12 and July 13 dates of the festivities taking place at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. There have been rumors circulating that the Hip-Hop legend and the Pop sensation were planning a joint stadium tour for this year, but no official details about that potential tour has been released. [ALSO READ: Hip-Hop Rumors: Jay-Z’s New Best Of Both World…With…] While Jay and Timberlake are booked on separate days of the festival, going off Jay-Z’s past record of bringing out special guests at his shows and the fact the two hit the stage together at this year’s Grammy awards, it is likely that they will join each other during at least one of their sets at Wireless. [ALSO READ: 55th Annual Grammy Awards Recap [Videos Included] The Wireless Festival began as a showcase for mostly Rock and EDM acts, but over the last 5 years, more Hip-Hop artists have been booked in top performance slots. Jay-Z was the first major rapper to headline the festival in 2008 and he returned to top the bill in 2010. Kanye West (2009) and Drake (2012) have also closed out Wireless in past years. Other acts currently confirmed to be performing at the Wireless Festival 2013 include Snoop Dogg, Trey Songz, John legend, Miguel, and Frank Ocean on Friday, July 12, with Emeli Sandé, Rita Ora, Kendrick Lamar, and Calvin Harris on Saturday, July 13. Organizers plan to announce more performers that will be added to the lineup in the future. (AllHipHop News) Frequent collaborators Justin Timberlake and Timbaland have made some great music together. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone’s Grammy Camp, Justin explains why the union between the pop singer and the Hip-Hop producer works so well. “My relationship with Tim is a relationship that I have with nobody else in the world. We’re like brothers, really,” says Timberlake. “You have friends like that, friends you don’t have to say much to, but you know they just get who you are. That’s the relationship I have with Tim, where we go in the studio and kind of don’t even speak to each other.” Justin’s upcoming comeback album The 20/20 Experience will heavily feature production by Timbaland. The first single off the LP, “Suit & Tie” featuring Jay-Z, was a Timbo project as well the new track “Mirrors” that was just released this week. “The Two Tim’s” prior collaborations produced the critically acclaimed FutureSex/Love Sounds. The four times platinum album featured Hip-Hop artists T.I. and Three 6 Mafia, and a remix to “Until The End Of Time” had added vocals from Beyoncé. Even though this will be Timberlake’s first album in seven years, he’s confident the work he’s done with Timbaland for 20/20 will be a reflection of their great musical chemistry. “We encapsulated ourselves in the studio and I didn’t tell anybody. I was just like, ‘Let’s make some music without all the hoopla of, like expectations. Let’s just make something that feels genuine from us.’ And I’m glad we were able to do that way because, for me, it’s the best stuff I’ve ever done.” Timberland is the only hip-hop legend JT calls a friend. After performing together at the Grammys rumors are swirling around that Timberlake and Jay-Z will hit the road together for a 10-city stadium tour. The 20/20 Experience is scheduled for release on March 19th.

(AllHipHop News) The latest collaboration between Hip Hop Mount Rushmore-bound Timbaland and Jay-Z involves no synths, no double metaphors or reminders. Just a photo posted on Jay-Z’s Life+Times website with a simple yet impactful message: Roc Nation Welcomes Timbaland to the family. There is no word yet on the details of their arrangement such as if Timbaland’s Mosley Music Group (MMG before MMG) will be migrating as well in a sort of joint venture. Timbaland is the latest addition to a roster that has more members than album releases. Since its 2008 inception, Roc Nation has only released seven albums and have had release date complications with both J. Cole’s debut LP and upcoming sophomore album and have suppressed Jay Electronica’s completed album into urban myth. Timbaland has already been heavily involved in Justin Timberlake’s third solo album 20/20 and produced Timberlake’s history-making first single “Suit & Tie” featuring Jay-Z. Doing so via an open letter to fans, Justin Timberlake, former member of the boy-band N’sync announced that he has been gearing up for a productive 2013 after getting into the studio and just “playing around with some sounds and songs.” “Suit and Tie” is the first record that Justin Timberlake has released in nearly 7 years. Some people may criticize me for the last 3 days. But it was fun, right?? Right?!?! Besides, I’d rather speak directly to all of you. And, who can knock me for having a little bit of fun with it? As you probably have heard through the “grapevine,” I’m gearing up for a big 2013. Back in June of last year, I quietly started working on what is now, my next journey with that thing I love called MUSIC. The inspiration for this really came out of the blue and to be honest, I didn’t expect anything out of it. I just went into the studio and started playing around with some sounds and songs. It was probably the best time I’ve had in my career… Just creating with no rules and/or end goal in mind and really enjoying the process. At this year’s International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which is currently taking place in Las Vegas, singer/actor Justin Timberlake, co-owner of MySpace, announced the company’s plan to release MySpace TV in an exclusive deal with Panasonic: “We’re ready to take television and entertainment to the next step by upgrading it to the social networking experience. Why text or email your friends to talk about your favorite programs after they’ve aired when you could be sharing the experience with real-time interactivity from anywhere across the globe? “As the plot of your favorite drama unfolds, the joke of your favorite SNL character plays, or even the last second shot of your favorite team swishes the net, we’re giving you the opportunity to connect your friends to your moments as they’re actually occurring.
