Lil’ Kim Says She Was Using Auto-tune Long Before It Was Hot

Lil’ Kim wants to remind you that she has been using auto-tune long before the musical processor and effect dominated the music industry. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Lil’ Kim shared that she was using auto-tune 16 years ago. The Queen Bee also recently sat down with Elias Leight to discuss ‘Lil Kim Season,’ her latest mixtape. She says she was using auto-tune heavy as she wanted her songs to sound different and because she was ahead of her time. “Everyone needs to go back and remember my older music. I even used auto-tune back when no one even was touching it – I used it on The Notorious K.I.M., on a song called “I’m Human.” I sang on all my albums; this is nothing new to me. It’s just that people haven’t heard from me in a while, so they only remember most of the singles that were put out. People need to remember how different every song I put out [was]. “Kitty Box” sounds like something that would be out now. I was ahead of my time, all the time,” said Kim Let ’em know Kim.

Hot97 Unveils Lineup For Summer Jam’s 2016 Festival Stage

(AllHipHop News) Today (April 5) Hot 97 announced part of the lineup for it’s annual Summer Jam concert held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The concert is set to feature a host of big name talents including Chance the Rapper, Curren$y, Tory Lanez, Desiigner, Post Malone and Dave East. New comers Justine Skye, Dougie F and Rotimi are also set for the Festival Stage geared toward more indie and up and coming acts. Last year at Summer Jam 2015, concert goers were able to see Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Big Sean, Fab & Friends, Meek Mill, Ty Dolla $ign & Friends, Omarion, and Childish Gambino. Fabolous did a throwback set and brought out Black Rob, Busta Rhymes, Remy Ma, Fat Joe, Method Man, Redman, Raekwon, Mobb Deep, Lil Kim, The Lox, and Ma$e. Surprisingly 50 Cent and French Montana also graced the same stage last year during Chris Brown’s set, squashing a beef after 50 attacked French’s Bad Boy boss Diddy on Instagram. Did Lil Kim Hint At Forthcoming Collaboration With Faith Evans?

Lil’ Kim recently did an interview with Billboard prior to her ‘Lil Kim Season’ mixtape release. When she was asked what sort of projects she’s been working on she stated that she was unable to reveal that info right now. The interviewer went on to say, “Faith Evans just announced she’s putting out a duets album with the Notorious B.I.G. later this year. What are your thoughts on that?” Kim replied saying, “All I can say is… stay tuned.” Is Kim hinting that a Faith Evans and Kim collaboration may be on the way. It would be nice for them to sample Biggie since they’ve left their beef in the past (publicly revealing the fact at Diddy & Snoop Dogg’s NBA All-Star concert). But wait, didn’t Mama Wallace ban Kim from Biggie’s musical estate?
