Red Bull Music Academy held a special concert in New York City a few days ago featuring the Duck Down Records family, along with a panel discussion with label founder Dru Ha and rappers Buckshot and Skyzoo. Duck Down’s head honcho and his partners spoke on the label’s creation, and shared some funny and crazy stories about their ties with Tupac Shakur right before his tragic murder. (LIKE…Mama Shakur started labeling his soda with a “Do not drink Pac’s soda” sign after the ravenous Duck Down gang nearly ate and drank them out of house and home!!!) After the lively Red Bull chat, fans got it in with questions – one of which was about the possibility of all of those good stories being turned into a movie based on the history of Duck Down. Without hesitation, the ever-eager Buckshot answered: “You know what, real soon. Hopefully. It’s like Dru [Ha] said with the music, although we want to do things and we see it happening tomorrow, it does have to be organic and it has to be real. A lot of times we get scripts and we get movie opportunities but it just might not necessarily be stuff that fits Duck Down at the time. We’re not just going to do no fake sh*t just so we can be in a movie. We’re going to wait for the right opportunity.” “It would be a good movie. We’ve got it in our minds,” Dru Ha added. Would you want to see a Duck Down movie? Duck Down Artists Release Song for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation

(AllHipHop News) Duck Down Records has released a new song titled “Run To Remember” in an effort to raise donations and awareness about Alzheimer’s. Today (October 20), the song is available exclusively at iTunes for .99 cents. Proceeds from the sales will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation. The new audio from Buckshot, Smif N Wessun and Promise, is produced by Double-O of Kidz In The Hall and is also a project in support of Dru Ha (co-owner of Duck Down Music), who lost his father to a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s. Earlier this year, Dru Ha announced that he would be running the ING New York City Marathon on November 6th in remembrance of his father and in support of the disease that affects over 5 million people in the United States. “I’m running it for the Alzhiemer’s Disease Foundation, a team called Run to Remember, based out of New York City. My father this past January passed away from Alzhiemers and I just felt like I needed to do something really challenging that personal to me and that would pay tribute to the man that he was,” Dru Ha said of his pursuit to complete the marathon. To date, Dru Ha has raised over $10,000 in donations for the disease

The rep insists … only the estate has the power to authorize the use of Tupac’s image for commercial use … and there’s NO WAY the sex tape will ever get the proper approval. 

We’re told Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, is aware of the tape — and has told her spokesperson, “Get the legal team ready because [we] will not allow someone to put it out.”

 Currently, the Shakur estate is trying to single out the person(s) responsible for the marketing of the tape. It is believed that the female featured in the video is behind the sale. For those that don’t know…the tape is said to be from 1991, is 5 minutes long, and features a woman going down on Mr. Shakur. How exciting! Not. Jay-Z Has Some Words for J.
