Led by the previously released tracks “Jay-Z Interview” and “Old School Caddy,” the 11-track mixtape includes guest appearances from the likes of Big Sean, Kid Cudi, Bun B, Chip Tha Ripper, John Legend, and Hit-Boy’s fellow Surf Club member, Stacey Barthe. Waka Flocka Set To Embark On “Triple F Life Tour”; Announces New Mixtape “Salute Me Or Shoot Me 4”
(AllHipHop News) Having wrapped up his stint on Drake’s “Club Paradise Tour,” Warner Bros. recording artist Waka Flocka has announced his “Triple F Life: Friends, Fans, and Family Tour,” as well as a new mixtape, Salute Me or Shoot Me 4. The 40-date tour will kick off on October 2 in Norfolk, Virginia and continue on to cities such as New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Albuquerque, New Orleans, and Tampa before coming to a close on November 21 in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to the upcoming fall tour in support of his June-released Triple F Life album, Waka Flocka released the cover art and tracklisting for his upcoming Salute Me or Shoot Me 4 mixtape, which will be dropping soon. Dr. Dre Inks Development Deal With FX Network For New Crime Drama
(AllHipHop News) Rapper, producer, and entrepreneur Dr. Dre is officially in business with FX, and is developing a brand-new drama with the network, according to THR. The site reports that “[FX] has inked a script development deal with writer Sidney Quashi and music mogul Dr. Dre for a drama pilot. The one-hour project, set in present-day Los Angeles, explores both the music business and crime business.” Quashie will serve as the creator of the show, as well as one its executive producers, alongside Dr. Dre. The deal will involve Dr. Dre’s Crucial Films/Crucial TV company, which was originally launched in 2007 with New Line Cinema, and now currently rests under Warner Bros. Currently, FX is airing new seasons of the critically acclaimed show, “Wilfred and Louie”, while the network’s highly anticipated fifth season of its biker show, “Sons of Anarchy”, will premiere on September 11. More details about Dr. Dre’s involvement and the show itself are expected in the near future.

(AllHipHop News) Twenty-five days prior to the release of his debut album, Dreams and Nightmares, Maybach Music Group’s Meek Mill has pushed back the project form it’s initial August 28 release to a later date in October, reports HHW. Meek’s MMG boss Rick Ross told Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, “He coming soon, he coming real soon. He’s still putting the final touches on his debut, making sure it’s a classic, and that’s most definitely what it will be.” The inevitable release of Dreams and Nightmares, will come on the heels of a successful year for Meek Mill whose last project, Dreamchasers 2, was reportedly downloaded over three million times since its release in May. After 10 weeks on Billboards’ “Hip-Hop/R&B” chart, Meek’s most recent single, “Amen,” currently sits at the #10. Murs and Fashawn are teaming up to release a new collaborative project on Duck Down Records titled This Generation. According to HHDX, the album, which was originally intended to be a double-disc, will be entirely produced by K-Salaam and Beatnick and will be released on September 25. Regarding the decision to let Beatnick and K-Salaam handle all of the production, Fashawn said, “They bring a brand new sound. We couldn’t picture any other producers.” He continued, “They could do an instrumental solo as a third verse and you wouldn’t be mad.” The new duo, which will hit the the stage as part of this summer’s Rock the Bells Festival, will be dropping a video for the project’s first single, “Slash Gordon,” very soon. Cee Lo Green, who has been represented as a client by Primary Wave Music since 2010, has now been named the company’s Chief Creative Officer (C.C.O.). Larry Mestel, C.E.O. of Primary Wave Music, told THR, “We’ve formed this incredible personal bond in two years, and Cee Lo is very excited and participatory in our business, so we wanted to do it in a bigger way and give him a piece of the company.” “[Cee Lo] is a master creator, unique visionary, charismatic entertainer, and deceptively brilliant strategist, a true quadruple threat,” said Mestel in a statement. In addition to his role as a team leader on NBC’s upcoming season of the hit singing show, “The Voice”, Cee Lo recently wrapped production on the upcoming feature film, Can A Song Save Your Life? and will next be seen performing a string of dates at Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood beginning on August 28.

The event, which takes place on August 19, will feature six battles including the main event pitting New York rappers Murda Mook and Iron Solomon against one another. In addition to the main event, there will be battles featuring Hitman Holla from St. Louis, Missouri against Atlanta’s John Da Don; DNA from Queens, New York battling Philly native and former Da Band member E.
