Bay Area Rapper Bobo Norco Launches High End Urban Clothing Line, Kindom Couture
Bay Area rap artist, Bobo Norco, had a good rookie year in 2014 with two radio singles, 1.6 million YouTube views, a performance at South by Southwest, and he was on the cover of ten print magazines. One of the things his social media followers seem to admire most is Norco’s unique and exclusive style of clothing. His IG fans frequently comment on his trendy wardrobe, exclusive accessories, and his $250,000 shoe collection which has it’s own bedroom in his seven bedroom NorCal residence. According to the press release, Norco was approached with an offer of starting his own fashion line at the 2015 Super Bowl. Norco agreed to be the spokesperson and creative director of a new clothing line he called, Kindom Couture or KNDM. KNDM’s website (KNDM.co) shows joggers, jerseys, hoodies, and hats for men and everything is hand-stitched. It also looks like Bobo Norco has a lot of celebrity friends that might like the new threads. He’s seen on his social media with Mistah F.A.B., Russell Simmons, Ace Hood, Evander Holyfield, Janice Dickinson, Welven Da Great, Hazel E, and Teairra Marí. On Thursday, April 18th, celebs, press, and industry insiders filled the Times Square AMC Empire 25 Theatres to view an advanced screening of the first black horror film in 13 years, Holla II. The highly anticipated movie, featuring Kiely Williams (“Disney’s Cheetah Girls”, “The House Bunny”) and Vanessa Bell Calloway (Showtime’s “Shameless,” “What’s Love Got To Do With It”), left viewers at the edge of their seats. Special guests for the evening included Vanessa Bell Calloway (cast), Teairra Mari (cast), Drumma Boy (scored the film), and VH1’s Love & Hop Hop cast member Tahiry, as well as the movie’s writer/director HM Coakley and executive producer Monica “Dollphace” Floyd. After the screening, guests were able to interact and field out questions to the cast members and production team during a live Q&A that was moderated by JasFly from VH1’s The Gossip Game. Additional special guests included Camille Irons Coakley (Producer), Trae Ireland (cast), Crystal Hoang (cast), Skyzoo (artist), Moka Blast (artist), and Simone “Boss Lady” Amelia (Sirius XM Radio). Detroit native and former Roc-A-Fella songstress Teairra Mari has dropped a new mixtape titled Unfinished Business. The singer, who can also currently be seen in Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa’s Mac and Devin Go to High School, has gathered a number of today’s hottest tracks and put her own twist on them. Teairra Mari, who is currently signed to singer and producer Rico Love’s Division 1 label, is using this new project to hold fans over while she completes work on her sophomore album, Sex On the Radio, which is due out later this year.
