On the radio, commercials, movies, and possibly a majority of people people’s party playlists all over the world, except for Rick Ross. In 2014, the MMG founder and Jermaine “Mayne Zayne” Jackson from production group The Runners filed a lawsuit against LMFAO because of the single, claiming that the group committed copyright infringement for using the phrase “everyday I’m shufflin’ “, a phrase very familiar with the sample used for Rick Ross’ first hit single “Hustlin’.” However, a judge recently threw away the case after stating that the two prosecutors’ lawsuit was ruled “defective.” According to Complex, Ross filed three different copyright registrations for Hustlin’. Unfortunately, his three attempts (through three different entities) failed due to the registrations being inconsistent. Once the judge received that information from the United States Copyright Office, he threw the case out of court because of its inaccuracies.
