(AllHipHop News) Maybach Music Group artist Torch spoke with AllHipHop.com about a number of subjects while recording for his upcoming EP titled Remember When. The Bronx-bred rapper revealed the significance of the title, as well as his plans for an upcoming collaboration record with “The King of Brooklyn,” rapper Maino, on a track titled “What Up.” “Its like when you first set out to be in the game, you just want to keep it real. The title’s like ‘remember those days.’ It’s just the authentic beginning and ground roots of the game, that’s what we’re trying to capture with this project,” Torch told AllHipHop.com about the EP’s concept. Torch also discussed working with Maino on the “What Up” track, which he described as a hardcore Hip-Hop track. “It’s one of those essence tracks, it takes you back to the Onyx ‘Throw Ya Guns,’ M.O.P ‘Ante Up,’ Busta Rhymes energy,” Torch explained. “We tried to capture that New York feel. Maino, he been repping hard for the city, so its only right I throw the big homie on there.” Torch also touched on Rick Ross’s new Mastermind, which is expected to top the Billboard Top 200 chart this week, with over 160,000 units sold since the album’s release on March 4. Torch said his favorite track on the album was “Nobody,” which is Rick Ross, French Montana and Diddy’s remake of The Notorious B.I.G.’s classic song “You’re Nobody (‘Til Somebody Kills You).” “That Mastermind album’s hard as f**k. My personal favorite track on the joint is the ‘Nobody’ joint with French and Puff,” Torch told AllHipHop.com. “It’s the Biggie throwback beat. That’s my favorite joint, because I’m a huge Biggie fan. When I heard them flip that, soon as the beat came on, I was sold.” Check out the exclusive interview with Torch below: [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eq2pqv5KA0&w=560&h=315] Follow Torch on Twitter @TorchMMG Follow Mikey T The Movie Star on Twitter @MTMovieStar

(AllHipHop News) In part two of AllHipHop.com’s interview with Maybach Music rapper Torch, the Bronx-bred MC touched on bringing back the New York influence. Torch explained that New York was always on his mind, even after he headed to Miami to work with Rick Ross. “That’s what I actually set out to do [bring New York back], I was one of the first New York ni**as trying to do that,” Torch told AllHIpHop.com. “I came down South fu**ing with Rozay from the get go. “A BX ni**a representing from the city, so it’s a beautiful situation to see all my ni**as coming full circle,” Torch continued. “Now you’ve got a bunch of ni**as coming and their actually checking for us a little bit more. Now you’ve got to make music [that’s] a little more versatile. Before we were so in the box. Now there’s a little more versatility going on, so now its about bringing a little bit of that boom back to the game. So ni**as know, you don’t have to bounce every track to get love out here.” Torch also touched on working with controversial Triple C group member Gunplay. “Gunplay is so unorthodox and crazy,” Torch explained. “Anytime you’re in the studio with him, he’s going to bring the best out of you cause he’s got so much energy. Just his energy and personailty feeding off it. It’s a beautiful situation, that’s why I can’t wait till y’all hear his project ‘Living Legend.’ That’s my ni**a for life, that’s my family.” Download Torch’s new mixtape “No A/C 2” here. (AllHipHop News) Maybach Music Group rapper Torch recently sat down with AllHipHop.com, as he prepared to record at Rick Ross’ Swisher Sweet Studio in Miami, Florida. Torch touched on his new mixtape projects including “NO A/C Volume 2” and the recently released “Tax Season.” “‘Tax Season…’ at the time I dropped it, it was tax time, it was time for me to audit these f**k ni**as, I wanted to get a little more personal so people could understand my story. Let everyone know it wasn’t all glamor and glitz. You see ni**as shining and all that, but I deserve all this. There was a lot of grinding and a lot of struggling to get to this point. Where I come from I’m a success story but with so much further to go.” Torch touched on the new Maybach Music albums, including Rick Ross’ upcoming release Mastermind. “This boy got so many bangers this Mastermind s**t is going to be on another level. I just be over there soaking up game listening and taking that million dollar advice, from a ni**a that came up. I saw him with the hands on ground work.” Torch also revealed some details on Self Made 3 which is set to drop everywhere September 17. “Self Made 3 its time for ni**as to understand, we bout to go in on their ass. Ross just has an ear for this s**t. I’m really looking forward just like everyone else, [to see] how he put it together. There’s so many records on the table. I don’t see how he could go wrong with it. All he got to do is grab whatever batch he want and the s**t is going to be legendary.” Check out the exclusive interview with Torch below: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xx25hQKydBE&w=420&h=315] Follow Mikey T The Movie Star on Twitter @MTMovieStar
