Latto Donates $250k Christmas Gifts In Hometown; Gets Official Day, Key To The City
Latto gave back to her city in a big way with a massive Christmas Toy drive, before being honored with a key to the city.
9th Annual KISS Cares Coat Drive
A variety of artists showed up to support WRKS, 98.7 KISS FM’s 9th Annual KISS Cares Coat Drive, in partnership with the New York Cares Coat Drive Friday. Over 1,200 coats were collected during the charitable event, which was held at Regal Cinema in Union Square. Guests that attended included Anthony Hamilton, Carl Thomas, Miss Black New York 2012, Selena Watkins, Essence Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Constance White, President of the NAACP, Benjamin Jealous, Hip-Hop legends, Treach from Naughty By Nature, Reggie Reg from the Crash Crew and others. “We all complain about what we don’t have, but we go out and waste money on stuff that we don’t need,” says Anthony Hamilton. “At times like this…I just think if somebody is there to take care of somebody else, then that’s less people doing without.” Check out some flicks below:
Egypt’s 2nd Annual Toy Drive A Success
National TV/ NYC Top Ranked Radio Personality, Egypt Sherrod hosted her 2nd Annual Egypt’s Give Back Tour, in partnership with Egypt Cares Family Foundation, WBLS 107.5 Radio, and Egyptsaidso.com. Egypt launched the annual toy drive in 2010, as a way to provide well deserving, yet financially challenged residents of the NY/NJ area with joy through coat and toy donations. This year, Egypt broadcasted live over six days from November 28-December 3, 2011, in Queens, Harlem, Brooklyn, Bronx and Newark and Plainfield, NJ. Artists like Grammy Award Nominee Jordan House, Eric Benet, Love & Hip Hop Personality-Nancy “Mama” Jones, Nicole Paultre Bell, Newark’s Mayor Cory Booker, Bronx Borough President-Ruben Diaz, Jr. and others.
