Florida Rapper Spinabenz Found Not Guilty By Jury

Will Spinabenz’s victory impact other cases?

On Thursday, Oct. 19, a jury has found Jacksonville rapper Spinabenz not guilty on a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in a recent trial where the prosecutor used his lyrics as evidence against him.

The drill hitmaker, whose real name is Noah Williams, pleaded not guilty to the charges, as the prosecutors cited lyrics from his song, “My Glock” to make a case for conviction.

The state argued Spinabenz girlfriend purchased a weapon for him that was found and confiscated during a traffic stop when he was arrested.

In the state of Florida, felons are barred from owning firearms. Spinabenz, who had already been convicted on a felony weapons charge (that was connected to a gang enhancement) faced up to 30 years in prison.

On Friday, Oct. 21, on his Instagram story he a message in response to the verdict was posted, saying, “They can’t stop the spinning.”

His 316,000 followers were thrilled at his victory.
