Kaine & D-Roc, better known as the “Ying Yang Twins,” have been making boppers bounce “Whistle While You Twerk,” their 2000 hit. Over a decade later their influence is still apparent. The duo has taken exception to French Montana and Kanye West seemingly borrowing from their legacy. But, beef aside, the Atlanta-based duo is back after a four-year hiatus to reclaim their spot in Hip-Hop as the innovators of the twerk revolution. How? First of all, the kooky pair have a new mixtape called “A$$ in Session,” which picks right back up where they left off with the effortless ability to make any party turn up. But most people are talking about “Sayin My Word,” which calls out artist French Montana and Kanye West for using their well know adlib “Haaaaaaan.”

The Ying Yang Twins recently chatted with AllHipHop.com before a show to talk about their current mixtape, future music and their feeling about the use of their adlib.

AllHipHop.com: Welcome back to the game!! How does it feel to be back of taking some time off?

Kaine: It feels great man

D-Roc: It feels good to get out here and make music again.

AllHipHop.com: So I know you all have a new mixtape out “Ass in Session.” What inspired the title?

Kaine: Well you already know! We make music people can shake their ass to!

D-Roc: Haaaaaaaaaan (Laughs)

AllHipHop.com: Are you currently working on an album as well?

Kaine: Yeah, we are working on album. No title at the moment, we just want the people to eat the “Ass in Session.” (Laughs)

AllHipHop.com:
Now let’s talk a little bit about the song “Sayin My Word,” in which you address artists like Kanye West and French Montana’s use of the word “Haaaaaannn.” What statement were you looking to make by releasing this song?

Kaine: We just wanted to tell the truth. We were the first one’s saying “Haaaaaan” since 2000. So we feel it’s wrong to not give recognition to those who came before you. It’s not a beef situation at all. We just want to make claim to what we and everybody else knows we started. To make a claim to something that has been out for 13 years is blatantly disrespectful.

AllHipHop.com: How important are adlibs to an artist in today music industry?

Kaine: It’s very important because it how you identify us as artist. Especially with social media and hash tags, adlibs are a way for people to find out who you are.

AllHipHop.com:
You feel the same way about the word “Twerk” as well?

Kaine:
Yea we brought the word “Twerk” to the forefront. The word actually started in New Orleans with their bounce music scene, but we brought it to the mainstream.

AllHipHop.com: Whats next for the Ying Yang Twins?

Kaine:
The fans can definitely look out for an album in the near future, but for right now we just want to push our mixtape “Ass In Session.”

D-Roc: And look out for the Ying Yang Twins in a city near you! Haaaaaaaaan.
