Buku Music + Art Project Day 2 Recap

CHECK OUT CLIPS AND PICS OF PERFORMANCES FROM ILOVEMAKONNEN, RAURY, LIL B, AND MORE

Although Day 1 of Buku Music + Art Project was turnt in its own right, Day 2 was doper. Raury started the day off with a euphoric set featuring a live band. Following the ATLien was BadBadNotGood x Ghostface Killah with one of the coolest jazz/hip hop performances in recent time. BBNG performed a classic Isaac Hayes track before Ghostface hit the stage to perform some tracks off of their recent project Sour Soul. Hours later, Lil B hit the stage in a very odd fashion. The Bay rapper arrived with nothing but a himself, a white towel, and some water. Several fans sang hits including “Wonton Soup” and “Ellen Degeneres”, but the B continued to rap about how he was in New Orleans while shouting out several NOLA legends like Juvenile, BG, Wayne, the list goes on. The headliner this evening was EDM act Bassnector, who didn’t shy away from impressing hip hop fans and listeners by playing Erykah Badu’s “On & On” before throwing it into an extreme mix. Later, G.O.O.D. Beats producer Hudson Mohawke performed a DJ set featuring tracks from himself, Kanye West, and TNGHT: HudMo’s acclaimed collaboration with Canadian producer, Lunice. One of the final acts to perform was “Tuesday” star iLoveMakonnen, who performed several hits from “Don’t Sell Molly” to “Tuesday”. Makonnen also performed a new song on stage as well. Check out some of the photos and clips from Day 2 of Buku!
