Newark, New Jersey’s real-life superhero, Mayor Cory Booker, recently paid a visit to the AllHipHop.com headquartered in the city he governs, and impressed the staff with his knowledge of Hip-Hop culture, as well as his genuine love for all types of music.

From Jay-Z and Queen Latifah, to Run-DMC and the Notorious B.I.G., Booker revealed that his taste in music varies, depending on his mood.

“Sometimes when I feel defiant, I like Biggie and really [he had] one of the all-time greatest Hip-Hop albums,” said Mayor Cory Booker.

Booker, who jogs with his iPod every morning, expressed that he finds inspiration and power from listening to music.

“I really fell in love with Common and Talib Kweli; those guys really spoke to me at a really important time in my life when I was just coming out of law school and getting involved, ” said Mayor Cory Booker. “I found a lot of strength from their raps.”
