The Prince of L.A. Is Aiming To Be Hip-Hop Royalty

The Prince Of L.A. explains how he linked up with Blueface, his new music and his passion for Deejaying.

The Prince of L.A. is the next hottest artist to blow out of Los Angeles, as evidenced in his name. It’s crazy to think the 19-year-old has been making music since the young age of 12. At that point, he was the youngest out of everyone doing it. The name was picked up for his efforts in giving back to the community, etc.

While he fondly remembers his dad (former rapper) teaching him how to rap, it was the moment him, Blueface, and Almighty Suspect released “Come And Find Me” that pushed him into the mainstream light. In fact, he and Blueface grew up together in Mid-City, oftentimes hanging out around the vicinity of World On Wheels.

AllHipHop: For those who don’t know, who is The Prince of L.A.?

The Prince of L.A. is somebody who’s born and raised in LA. Basically, everything about me is LA, I’m a young entertainer, music artist, dancer, all of the above.

AllHipHop: Why should people f##k w/ you?

The Prince of L.A. : People should f##k with me because I’m me. I offer something different and I’m real hella versatile. Aside from music, I have a personality that’s crazy so people would f##k with that even if they don’t f##k with my music.

AllHipHop: What’s your personality?

The Prince of L.A. : High-tech. I just have a lot of energy. I’m laidback when I need to be but when it comes to going on stage and recording music, the energy’s there when it needs to be.

AllHipHop: How would you describe your sound?

The Prince of L.A. : Musically I’m hella cocky, especially through my music. People who really know me, I’m hella laidback. When it comes to that music though, I’m hella cocky. Performing, recording, that’s something I’m really confident in.

AllHipHop: How did you meet Blueface?

The Prince of L.A. : Just being around there [Midtown]. When people come from the same area, it’s not hard to run into each other. It’s like if me and you were to live in the same apartment building, it probably wouldn’t be hard for us to know each other. It wasn’t hard. I started off because a lot of people who knew me before I went viral, they knew I used to deejay at World On Wheels.

AllHipHop: How old were you when you were deejaying?

The Prince of L.A. : That was only a year and a half ago. I was deejayIng there for a minute. My uncle threw a little function or whatever and Blueface before he blew up, he had pulled up. I deejayed his set then he DM’ed me. Shortly after, it was a wrap.

AllHipHop: You knew how to deejay and all that?

The Prince of L.A. : Yeah, I’ve been deejaying since I was 13 or 14 years old. A lot of people don’t know that I can really deejay. Any of my fans who knew me before I went viral knows I can dance, flip, I can do a lot of stuff. But anybody who’s just catching wind of my music, they feel “okay his music is cool.” They probably don’t know too much about me and what I’m able to do.

AllHipHop: What was it like seeing Blueface’s career skyrocket?

The Prince of L.A. : It was crazy. It happened right before my eyes. Especially last summer, we were doing every show together. Going crazy. For me to see him go viral and really go crazy is inspiring. Motivational. It just pushed me. It gave me an outlook like you can make it happen too.

AllHipHop: You’re with him for all his sold-out shows. What’s been the craziest memory on tour?

The Prince of L.A. : Mmm, it’s a lot of them. One time when he first started throwing the water on himself, this man was going to every girl in the crowd leaning the water bottle over. [holds bottle at d##k] Holding it like this, pouring it in their mouth. I’m like these girls are crazy. At that point, I’m like oh yeah, star power is for real.

AllHipHop: Did he really sleep with all of those women?

The Prince of L.A. : Aye man, I don’t know. That’s what happens after the show. We be together but after the show, I go and do my own thing.

AllHipHop: What shows do you have upcoming?

The Prince of L.A. : I have a show in Oregon that I’m booked for in October. Actually, it’s a lot of people inquiring right now through my manager J Allen. We just waiting to lock something in, but the inquiries are at an all-time high.
