AllHipHop.com: How long have you been doing music?

DJ Suede: I’ve been producing music since 12 years of age. I’m 26 now so yeah that’s 14 years.

AllHipHop.com: You are obviously a DJ but prior to this hit, how frequently were you getting booked?

DJ Suede: I’ve been getting booked since college days. I’ve always been dope from the clubs to producing. It started slowly in the very beginning but the only time I’m not DJing is when I’d rather be making bangers at home.

AllHipHop.com: How does it feel to have made the theme song for Thanksgiving 2016?

DJ Suede: Nothing but a major blessing from God! I knew it was a smash but had no idea it would go as far as National Television and consistent radio play.

AllHipHop.com: Where did you make the song?

DJ Suede: I make everything at my crib studio. People think I work in a huge studio, not true. All I need is a computer and a midi keyboard lol.

AllHipHop.com: Where did you find the song that you sampled for the hit? Instagram.

DJ Suede: The meme page @Daquan posted it. A friend DM’d the original clip saying “Bro kill this sh*t for Thanksgiving!” So, I did. I got it done in an hour, if that long.

AllHipHop.com: When did it go viral and what caused that?

DJ Suede: It circulated the net immediately as I saw Dwight Howard repost it but once the homie Chris Brown got hold of it, it was a wrap!

AllHipHop.com: Did you label the “U Name It Challenge” or did someone else?

DJ Suede: Nope! Chris Brown created the #UNameItChallenge. I created the song. I appreciate it Breezy.

AllHipHop.com: What is your favorite food?

DJ Suede: Ima country kid, so, I love Fish and Cheese Grits w/ a side of Buttered Shrimp lol

AllHipHop.com: Shirley Ceaser definitely sang about rams in the song, how do you feel about rams?

DJ Suede: I was cool with everything but that part. Lol never eat Ram. I don’t even think you can eat Ram. Yeah, I’m cool on the rams. Shout to my alma mater though (Albany State Golden Rams).

AllHipHop.com: Had you experienced any commercial success prior to this release?

DJ Suede: I’ve had my “iPhone Remix” ringtone that I created years ago featured on Mediacom Commercials and a popular tv show on Fox, (Rosewood) starring Morris Chestnut, just this past year. Ratchet Girl Anthem that popped off Emmanuel Hudson’s career, you may know him from Wild ‘N Out as well as movies, was a big start for me.

AllHipHop.com: Are you indie or signed?

DJ Suede: I’m an indie producer. Just waiting on the man upstairs to put me where I need to be.

AllHipHop.com: How has your life changed since the song went viral?

DJ Suede: Man, my life is exciting filled with motivation and love from Belgium to LA. My DM’s are doing numbers! Lol I have so many cousins now smh. They said fame or notoriety brings people out of nowhere. Those are facts lol! But nah, my mom, dad, brother and nieces are my priority and they can’t go anywhere without someone stopping them saying “Hey, your son/brother is everywhere!”

AllHipHop.com: How did you get started in music?

DJ Suede: I started as a child watching my uncle play with Fruity Loops Studio. I just got interested immediately because I love music. I didn’t take it serious until college. I’ve had the blessings of producing for names such as Young Thug, Migos, Skippa Da Flippa, Young Dro and many others.

AllHipHop.com: What are you working on next?

DJ Suede: I’m working on everything. Remixing is an actual lifestyle for me. Look forward to seeing me producing hits with some of your favorite Rap, R&B Artists and Pop Artists soon!
